Two Year 11 students from Immanuel College have been invited to take part in the next World Scout Jamboree, which will be taking place in South Korea in 2023.
Chloe Stanley and Jack McDougall, both 15, applied for places at the event, held by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, taking place in a different location every four years,
Jack said: “Around 40,000 Scouts from all over the World will be attending the Jamboree and we’re both really excited to have been chosen to go. We’re going to be spending the next few months fundraising for the trip with lots of different activities.”
Chloe added: “The Scouts are really important because they bring people from all different backgrounds together; it doesn’t matter where you’re from or who your friends are, you can all take part together.”
Jodi and Philip Stanley, Chloe’s parents, said: “We are very proud of Chloe’s achievement of being selected to represent West Yorkshire Scouts at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in 2023.
“The trip to South Korea will be an amazing experience for her and the opportunity to engage with fellow scouts from all over the world and learn different cultures will be fantastic. The journey has just begun and the next 18 months are going to be very exciting!”
